An Olympic ice dancer competing for the Canadian team was born right here in Rockford.

That campfire-ish scent that was wafting through the stateline last week has been chalked up to Canadian wildfires, and now another side-effect of those wildfires, this time visual, is here in the form of really cool, colorful sunsets.

It wasn't due to an escape, or even an escape attempt. It wasn't because of a riot or a massive fight in the cafeteria, either. The Cook County Jail recently experienced a lockdown because of the NBA Finals. It seems that over 300 guards (317, to be exact) called in "sick" so they could stay home to watch Game 7 between the Cavs and the Warriors.

In hockey, there's nothing new about a fight breaking out. It happens all the time. To be fair, it's almost always player against player (and sometimes the crowd is part of the mix). The key words being "almost always." For the exception, we head to a Junior A game in London, Ontario...
