Just a short drive from Rockford, Illinois this town has a claim to a "world's largest" and is known as America's Capital for this popular activity.

Over the past ten years, Rockford has been adding Bike Route signage and some striping to streets around the city.

Rockford is a bicycling town. With miles and miles of bike-paths, and a citizenry that loves to make use of them, there's little dispute that we've got a lot of people around here who spend quite a bit of their time on two wheels. Unless...those two wheels (and the bike attached to them) are stolen even when we've locked up the bike. Then, those paths become walking paths.

This Saturday, Rockford's River District is giving you a great opportunity. Take a bike ride, get a great view of one of Rockford's coolest areas, and help out the community, all at the same time.
