A new study from PrivacyJournal.net revealed which states are safer than others for dating online.

Their research team analyzed multiple factors to determine each state's safety for online dating, including romance scams, identity theft, fraud, registered sex offenders, STDs, and violent crime.

By assessing these elements and their impact on dating safety, we produced a comprehensive ranking of states from safest to most dangerous.

Vermont Tops List for Safety, Nevada and Alaska are Riskiest

Vermont ranked as the safest state for online dating, according to the PrivacyJournal research. With the second-lowest rate of identity theft and the lowest rate of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs),

Vermont offers a relatively secure environment for romantic pursuits. Additionally, it ranks in the bottom 10 for violent crime and fraud, making it a top choice for those looking to avoid online dating pitfalls.

Following Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire offer a similarly safe dating experience. Maine boasts the lowest violent crime rate in the nation, while New Hampshire is not far behind with the second-lowest.

On the flip side, Nevada presents a high-risk environment for online dating with the second-highest rate of romance scam reports and significant instances of identity theft and fraud. Alaska follows closely, with the third-highest rate of romance scams and substantial reports of identity theft.

 Wisconsin is Safer for Online Dating Than Illinois

Ranking as the 18th safest state for online dating was Wisconsin, with a score of 68.80, compared to 87.54 which Vermont scored as the safest in the U.S.

Illinois ranked as the 30th safest in the U.S. with a score of 60.70 and high numbers in the fraud and STD reports category.

Iowa ranked safer than both Illinois and Wisconsin as the 11th safest in America to date online, and a score of 73.89.
