Two Rockford Teens Charged in Armed Robbery at East State Street Gas Station

Police Respond to Armed Robbery on East State Street
According to the press release, Rockford Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on November 11 at the Mobil gas station at 5810 E. State Street.

Officers were called to the scene around 8:25 am after reports that two juvenile males had entered the business and allegedly implied they were armed before taking multiple items from behind the counter.
Juveniles Detained and Charged
According to RPD, the suspects in the robbery are two teens from Rockford, ages 16 and 15, and both were detained shortly after leaving the gas station.
Following a review of the incident, the Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office authorized charges for both juveniles, including armed robbery, criminal trespass, and resisting arrest.
The teens have been placed in juvenile detention as the investigation continues.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities noted that additional charges could be filed as the investigation develops, and police remind residents that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
