Coordinated raids were conducted by the Rockford Police Department at a housing complex, where multiple illegal firearms were seized, including a machine gun.

Juvenile and Adult Arrested in Firearms Investigation

According to the press release, Rockford PD executed two search warrants early on Tuesday morning (10/28), following an ongoing investigation into illegal firearm possession involving multiple juveniles and one adult at the Rockford Housing Authority's Orton Keyes development.

Detectives from the RPD Gang Unit searched the homes in the 500 block of Ranger Street and the 600 block of Score Street.

Raids by RPD Yield Loaded Weapons

At the Ranger Street home, 19-year-old Theron Starks III briefly resisted before being taken into custody, according to the report.

Inside the residence, police found a handgun modified with an auto-sear conversion device, turning it into a machine gun with a 47-round drum magazine, and over 40 additional rounds of ammunition.

Additional Firearms and Ammunition Discovered

At the Score Street address, Clidell Stevenson Jr., 66, and a 17-year-old male were detained after exiting the home.

Detectives found two loaded firearms, one with 12 rounds and the other with 27, along with more than 240 rounds of ammunition, according to the press release.

Charges and Continuing Investigation

The Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office authorized multiple charges, including machine gun possession, resisting arrest, and firearm offenses without a FOID card.

Starks and Stevenson remain in custody at the Winnebago County Jail, while the juvenile is held at the Juvenile Detention Center.
