Top Trunk-or-Treats Your Kids Will Love in the Rockford Area This October

Fall has officially arrived in Illinois, and that means it’s time to start planning for Halloween!

Picking out Halloween costumes is something my family likes to do in mid-September for several different reasons:

1. We'll have plenty of time to order and/or make our costumes for the year.
2. We don't have to worry about our costume choice selling out.
3. Having our costume early means we'll be ready to hit up all the Halloween events, trunk-or-treats, and parties that happen all throughout October.

Before I had kids I wasn't too fond of trunk-or-treats simply because they took away the amount of kids trick-or-treating in my neighborhood, (which is something I love to see), but now that I have young kids I get it...trunk-or-treats are convenient, and in many ways, safer.

You don't have to do the mad dash through your neighborhood chasing children who are excited to collect tons of candy as fast as they can. You don't have to worry about children crossing streets or other cars speeding.

Another plus for trunk-or-treats is that many of these events also feature games and activities that everyone in the family will enjoy.
