Rockford’s Beloved Festival Of Frights Needs Help Pulling Off the Best Scare Yet!
The Festival of Frights is a family-friendly, free light drive-thru that has become a beloved Halloween tradition for families all over the Rockford area, and now we can help make this year's celebration even better.
What Is the 'Festival of Frights'?
Thousands of people flock to Rockford's 'Festival of Lights' during the Christmas season at Sinnissippi Park, and the 'Festival of Frights' is basically its spookier, younger sister.
For the sixth year in a row businesses and organizations throughout the Rockford area will team up to turn Sinnissippi Park into a spooktastic display of lights, pumpkins, straw figures, and more, and over the next few weeks we all have the opportunity to make this year even bigger and better.
The Festival of Frights committee works hard all year long to raise money for not only more displays to delight our families, but also to provide Halloween costumes for kids that need them...that's where you and I come in.
Festival of Frights Fundraising Events
In 2023 the Festival of Frights was able to provide Halloween costumes for kids in over 40 local families, and the need in 2024 is even greater.
Over the next few weeks two local restaurants will be hosting fundraisers to benefit the Festival of Frights, so mark these dates on your calendars and take the family to help out...
Festival of Frights will also be holding their family-friendly Haunted Hills Hustle on Saturday, October 26...
When Does the Festival of Frights Open?
The 2024 Festival of Frights will officially open on Friday, October 25, and it will run nightly from dusk until 9 p.m. through Halloween (October 31).
Here's two last important things to remember about Rockford's Festival of Frights;
- The light display is free to drive through and enjoy, but dropping money in the donation bin at the end is highly encouraged.
- Lines to drive through can get long, so make sure you bring your patience and something to keep the kiddos entertained while you wait.
