Melissa Etheridge Spotted At Rockford Restaurant Again…Here’s Why

The Norwegian restaurant in Downtown Rockford's North End had a celebrity visitor this week, and it's not the first time the rocker has enjoyed a meal at the restaurant.

For those that have never been, The Norwegian is a charming Scandinavian restaurant that offers a delicious menu of traditional Scandinavian flavors mixed with contemporary culinary techniques.

Brunches are what The Norwegian is most well known for, but on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays they reopen from 5 to 9 p.m. for dinner service which Rockfordians love, and apparently, rock and roll celebrities do too.

First, let's answer the question everyone is asking right now; why was Melissa Etheridge and her wife Linda Wallem (not pictured above) in Rockford?

Did Melissa play a concert somewhere close that we hadn't heard about? Was the couple passing through town on their way to Chicago?

Here's the reason they were in Rockford according to The Norwegian...

They have a meeting up in Madison tomorrow. But Melissa’s wife is from Rockford.

Wait, what?!? Linda Wallem Etheridge is from Rockford? How did we not know this until today?!?

According to Wikipedia, Linda Wallem was born in Madison, Wisconsin, but raised in Rockford!  I'm assuming Linda still has family in the area, because this was not the first time Linda and Melissa Etheridge have stopped at The Norwegian for a meal. The couple spent time enjoying Rockford's North End last summer too...

Hey, Melissa and Linda, the next time you're in Rockford, could you pretty please stop by the radio station too? We would all absolutely love to meet you both!
