This weekend thousands of visitors and athletes will be coming to Downtown Rockford for the city's first IRONMAN competition on June 22, and with them come many road closures residents need to be aware of.

Could You Survive IRONMAN?

In case you didn't know, Downtown Rockford will be buzzing this weekend thanks to the city's very first IRONMAN Rockford Triathlon taking place on Sunday, June 22!

For those who are unaware just how fierce IRONMAN Rockford is, it covers 70.3 miles, consisting of a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run. (Holy smokes!)

IRONMAN Rockford triathlon events begin Friday, June 20, and for the safety of the competitors, families, and fans, several streets will be closed throughout Rockford, so plan your travels accordingly.
