The Illinois Veterans' Homes at Anna and Manteno are currently navigating an increase in COVID-19 cases among both residents and staff.

Focus on Safety and Care

According to a press release from the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, the Anna facility has reported 17 resident cases and seven among staff, while Manteno has seen 15 residents and nine staff affected, as of September 24.

Fortunately, the majority of these cases are presenting with mild symptoms, allowing for continued care and support.

Strict Infection Control Measures in Place

n response to the outbreak, both homes are adhering to the stringent infection control guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).

Protocols include social distancing, mandatory masking in direct care areas, and enhanced cleaning and disinfection routines. To further ensure safety, amplified testing for both residents and staff is being conducted throughout this period.
