Well, well, well. It looks like someone's got themselves in a little situation. According to this post to Reddit, an Illinois man was out and about, minding his own business, and unloading groceries into his car with his wife, at a Jewel-Osco in Chicago, when all of a sudden, some idiot Youtuber or Tiktoker or something comes out of nowhere and starts whispering sweet nothings in his ear.

I mean, come on man, that's just asking for a slap in the face. And that's exactly what his dad did, he reacted like a reflex and whacked the guy open-handed.

What's with the man's instant reaction?

The Redditor who shared the details of the incident said his dad is from Chicago, said he (his dad) is not one to make jokes like this lightly.

My dad is from Chicago and he doesnt take jokes like this in light because he was a victim of robbery many times before and I think he has trauma or something from it to not have trust when hes out and about.

It sounds like the man doesn't have a "slap first, ask questions later" policy.

Police weren't called... yet

The son goes on to explain police weren't called, but the Youtuber told his cameraman to film his father and get a glimpse of his license plate on camera. So, his question is, does he need an attorney?

The man expressed to his son that he is not worried and says it was self-defense, but do you think he's being a little too carefree about the situation?

This is certainly a tricky situation.

The Youtuber was clearly in the wrong for trying to prank someone let alone how he did it and the location, we can all agree on that. But, was the man's reaction also understandable given his past experiences?

It's important to remember that both individuals involved in the incident are human beings, and should be treated with respect and empathy. And also, maybe next time, the Youtuber should stick to pranking people who actually want to be pranked.
