Ford, talking to NBC26, says the secret isn't all that complicated. It's just about timing and care.
'It's just like a little baby,' Ford said. 'We don't want them too hot. We don't want them too cold. We want them just right.'
Not Quite the World’s Heaviest Pumpkin
Ford's pumpkin is massive, but believe it or not, it's not the world's heaviest pumpkin. That honor goes to twin brothers in England who had a plump old pumpkin that weighed in at a scant 2,819 pounds. Ford's gargantuan gourd isn't too far behind, and it's undoubtedly one of the largest pumpkins ever grown in America.
