Have you taken a look at Illinois' extended forecast for this weekend and early next week? Let me just say this: if you love summer, you're going to be mad. If you can't wait for fall, start busting out your favorite hoodies.

Done With Summer Heat

Last weekend the temps were brutally hot in Northern Illinois and they confirmed one thing for me very quickly: I am OVER the summer heat.

Sure, I will miss warm summer days floating in my pool, but standing outside dripping in sweat watching my children play sports? That can kick rocks.

Is Illinois' First Taste of Fall Coming?

I've lived in Illinois long enough to know that late August, September, and sometimes the beginning of October can be a rollercoaster of high and low temperatures, so I'm really trying not to get too excited about this extended forecast prediction from Northern Illinois Severe Weather:

It will feel much cooler for the remainder of the month with much less humidity and no highs in the 90s for northern Illinois. We will be in the 60s, 70s, and low 80s for a while. 90s are nowhere to be found on the models.

Local meteorologists all agree that the Stateline area will be treated to highs in the low 70s and upper 60s Sunday into Monday, which is perfect timing for the opening days of all our favorite local apple orchards!

I guess the only question left is, which one of my new hooded sweatshirts should I wear first next week?
