Bummer News: Rockford’s Bourbon Street Lounge Is Closing

A new chapter will soon begin for the building at 3870 N Perryville Road in Rockford, and the ending to the last chapter is a sad one.

Do you recognize this building located at 3870 N Perryville Road?

It opened in 2004 as Victory Diner. Several years later it became RBI’s Restaurant & Bar, then RBI Breakfast Bar, before rebranding with new owners in 2022 as Bourbon Street Lounge.

In my younger years, RBI was one of THE places to hang out with friends on the weekend, and my parents loved going there for their Friday night restaurant dates. They were bummed when RBI said goodbye, but they have had many positive things to say about Bourbon Street Lounge too. It's safe to say my parents will not be happy to hear this disappointing news.

Bourbon Street Lounge Is Closing

A statement posted Tuesday October 14, on Bourbon Street Lounge's Facebook page says:

It's with a heavy heart that we've decided to close Bourbon Street Lounge.  The kitchen will be closed after today, but we're keeping the bar open through Sunday.

Dang! We don't even get a chance to eat one last meal at Bourbon Street Lounge, but at least we can still enjoy some cocktails there for a few more days...and save some money while we're at it:

Bourbon Street Lounge Mobile Bar

I was unaware until today that Bourbon Street Lounge has a Mobile Bar, and it looks perfect for all those holiday parties, weddings, and events coming up:
