Looking for the best places to visit the next time you go to Wisconsin? Here are eight of the best attractions that state of Wisconsin has to offer.
Planning a Wisconsin Itinerary
If you live in Northern Illinois like I do, odds are you’ve crossed the border into Wisconsin plenty of times, for many different reasons.
While many Illinoisans cross into Wisconsin for lakes, beaches, or Spotted Cow beer, the state is also full of beautiful and unusual sights worth exploring.

My family visits Wisconsin several times each year, but we still try to find new places we've never been to before every time we go there. We're hoping to head north again in just a few weeks, so what should we discover when we're up there?
Best Places to Visit in Wisconsin
With two young daughters in tow, most of our Wisconsin adventures involve family friendly places, but what attractions make the best of the best list for Wisconsin? Have we been missing out on some amazing places all these years?
I decided to do a little Googling to find out.
World Atlas recently published their list of the best attractions in Wisconsin, and the list has something everyone will love:
Devil’s Lake State Park
Located in Baraboo, Wisconsin, Devil's Lake State Park is an easy drive from Northern Illinois, and a great place to visit for beautiful scenery and outdoor fun. It's especially gorgeous in the fall!
Apostle Islands National Lakeshore
The Door County area may be a longer drive for us in Northern Illinois, but the chance to explore 21 islands, cool sea caves, lighthouses, shopping, and great food is well worth the trip.
Wisconsin Dells
The “Waterpark Capital of the World" is always a favorite for my family, but there's so much more to do there that doesn't require a swimsuit. Shows, shopping, boat tours, mini putting, dining, everything a great getaway needs can be found in Wisconsin Dells.
House on the Rock
Located in Spring Green, House on the Rock might be Wisconsin's most unique attraction filled with all kinds of cool collections, carousels, and other fascinating things. House on the Rock is also located just down the road from one of Wisconsin's other popular attractions; Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin estate.
Milwaukee Art Museum
Wisconsin's largest museum is located on the shores of Lake Michigan and is filled with over 34,000 incredible works of art!
World Atlas also included Lambeau Field in their list of Wisconsin's best attractions, but as a born and raised Chicago Bears fan, I'm going to skip that entry. LOL.
