If you ever get arrested by the police in Illinois for committing a crime, no matter how big or small, this is not the way to handle it.

There's a reason it's called "dumb criminals, committing stupid crimes." The suspects are making bad decision after bad decision. You don't see the names of the smart people in the police blotter. They don't even learn from each other's mistakes.

The perfect example is these crooks who have a vehicle full of drugs, weapons, and cash, then they're speeding down the road with a headlight out. That's when the driver should hang that "arrest me now" sign on the side of the car.

There is another dumb move that will just get you into a lot more trouble. That's bribery. So the suspect gets arrested, and they offer the police officer cash to let them go. The cops aren't going to do that. A guy in Joliet tried it, and guess what? It didn't work, and now he's facing even more jail time.

According to Patch...

The Joliet Police Department announced that 38-year-old resident Keith Bullock faces bribery charges as well as being an armed habitual criminal, possession of a stolen firearm, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, obstructing a peace officer, obstructing justice, criminal trespass to a vehicle, and disorderly conduct.

 

A man had approached a woman in a vehicle and showed her he was armed with a handgun.

 

 

He then attempted to enter the vehicle, but the victim was able to safely drive away, the police reports show.
