The DEA put a tracking device on a "pill press" and it took them right to a drug house in Illinois, that had a millions dollars worth of drugs inside. ABC7

The tracking device was placed on a pill press that was shipped to Allen Dean, who had it at his apartment on South Union Avenue in Chicago. This was the location Allen's drug lab.

Authorities said that Mr. Dean Dean had been shipping fentanyl by mail from California to Chicago since 2019. Authorities intercepted a couple packages and started the process to get Mr. Dean.

On March 30th, authorities attempted to arrest Mr. Dean which led to a bizarre chase. He stole a security guards car that was in a fenced in lot, he floored it and smashed through the fencing at took off. He did get away, this time.

Authorities raided his drug lab and found an awful lot of drugs and much more.

  • More than 1,000 grams of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine powder
  • More than 5,400 tablets containing a mixture of fentanyl and methamphetamine
  • Total estimated value of the narcotics was nearly $1.2 million

An abandoned vehicle also owned by Mr. Dean was searched and what was found inside was quite interesting. There was a motor for a pill press and pill bottles that were labeled "Oxycodone and Acetaminophen."

Mr. Dean was arrested days later and charged with a felony count of manufacturing or delivery of more than a total of 900 grams of fentanyl.
