Holiday Vibes Rolling Into Illinois with the CP Holiday Train
A Holiday tradition of a different kind is making its way through the Rockford area at the end of November.
I'm talking about the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train.
The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train, an annual tour that spreads holiday cheer on a grand scale, will travel through the US on November 22.
Since its inception, the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train has been a beacon of hope, raising over $24 million and 5 million pounds of food for those in need.
All of the donations go to help local food banks.
Each stop of the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is a celebration of the season, filled with live performances that are sure to get you in the holiday spirit.
Well-known artists like KT Tunstall and American Authors performing adds an extra layer of excitement to the event.
Other artists include the James Barker Band, Cierel, The Lone Bellow, Tiera Kennedy, Seaforth, Alana Springsteen, Tyler Shaw, and Shawnee Kish.
While the tour starts in Maine, the Holiday Train makes its way through New York before reaching Illinois, then out to Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and finally North Dakota.
There are many stops in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota.
While the Holiday Train makes numerous stops across the country, we're fortunate to have a local one right here in the Rockford area.
The Holiday Train stops in Byron on November 27 for a half hour from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Tower Road.
If you can't make it for that one, the Holiday Train will be in Gurnee on December 7.
Performers for the Byron stop are Tyler Shaw and Shawnee Kish.
Don't forget to bring a cash donation or a non-perishable food item to contribute to this noble cause.
Enjoy live music and get in the holiday spirit with the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train.
