Cheer Up, This Wisconsin Town is Among America’s Happiest Places
Have you ever wondered what exactly it means to be happy?
Does your happiness have anything to do with where you live?
A report just came out that lists the happiest cities in America, and one just so happens to be in Wisconsin.
Before I go any further, no city, town, suburb, or village in Illinois was among the 25 happiest in the US.
It was quite a surprise, but then again, upon a closer look at the metrics WalletHub used to determine the happiest cities in the country, it all started to make sense.
WalletHub's study was comprehensive, measuring a total of 29 different indicators, from life satisfaction to poverty to job satisfaction and a whole host of other factors in between.
The happiest city in America is Fremont, California, with a total score of 74.16. It is ranked #1 in Emotional and physical Well-Being and #3 in Community and environment.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin, one of America's finest college towns, is also known as one of the US's most happy cities because Madison came in ranked #4 overall.
Madison, scoring high marks in Emotional & Physical Well-Being (7), Income & Employment (17), and Community & Environment (9), is undoubtedly the happiest city in Wisconsin, a fact its residents can be proud of.
Milwaukee is the 2nd closest to Madison, coming in at #108.
According to the WalletHub study, Aurora is the happiest city in Illinois, ranked #37, followed by Chicago at #83.
The saddest or "least happy" city in America? Detroit.
