Rockford’s Best Holiday Road Trips Within a Couple Hours
Over half of Americans (57%) say they love the sense of adventure that comes with a holiday road trip… which is good, because the average driver will spend 13 hours behind the wheel this season. A new survey from Jiffy Lube and Talker Research found that nearly one in 10 drivers will log over 30 hours on the road between November and January. That’s a lot of gas station snacks and “Are we there yet?”
Even with long drives, car troubles, and the occasional backseat meltdown, Americans still prefer driving over any other travel method; it’s cheaper (53%), more comfortable (50%), flexible (43%), and the easiest way to haul gifts (37%). And despite the exhaustion, the majority agree: it’s worth it. Seventy-one percent say time with loved ones is what brings the most joy during the holidays.
So if you’re among the Rockford families packing up the car at 6:59 a.m. because “seven in ten drivers say the morning is the right time to leave,” here are three festive road trips that make every mile worth it.
