I don't know how people can be this cruel.  A pregnant cat was thrown from a moving vehicle in Loves Park, Illinois, and in recovery alongside one of her kittens.

Animal cruelty is still very much a thing, and it blows my mind how people have zero sympathy for innocent animals.  How do you look at a living, breathing animal and decide that throwing it out a window is the best option?

So many questions that will go unanswered, but I'm just glad the mama is safe and gave birth to at least one kitten!  PAWS Humane Society Rockford shared the heartbreaking story on Facebook:

"It's hard to believe we are going through this again and so soon. Yesterday, we did an emergency intake of a cat thrown out of a car in Loves Park. Today, she went into labor (one kitten so far)"

I also couldn't agree more with how they ended their post.

Time and time again, we see people abandon their pets outside animal shelters in the middle of the night, the dead of winter, with no food or water, or at dog parks when there's severe weather.  This isn't new behavior, nor is it shocking.  It's just sad every time another situation like this happens.

WE HAVE TO DO BETTER.

PAWS was overwhelmed with the amount of donations from the community, but you can always continue to donate on their Facebook page to help animals like this pregnant cat and their babies!  If you're interested in adopting, these are some of the best rescues and shelters around the Rockford area\ you can visit!
