New Study Says This Illinois City Is One of the ‘Best-Run’ in America
Who would've thought that the second-biggest city in Illinois would be the one getting recognition?
WalletHub ranks Aurora as the 28th best-run city in America, which should make residents proud, especially when compared to the rest of the state.
That's because Aurora is the only Illinois city in the top 100.
To create a decent list, Wallethub examined 30 different factors, such as financial stability, education, safety, and city services.
Aurora stood out among other cities in America due to its health, public safety, and education rankings.
Simply put, Aurora knows how to get things done, and it's easy to see why.
What Makes Aurora Special?
It seems Aurora knows how to balance growth with livability. That's something bigger cities like Chicago might want to learn. That's not to say Aurora isn't large; outside of the Windy City, more people live in Aurora than anywhere else in the state.
Despite the sheer amount of humanity, Aurora still operates like a small town with a tight-knit community, a great downtown area, and excellent schools and parks.
New families looking to put down roots could do much worse than doing so in Aurora.
A Shoutout to Rockford
While Aurora is getting some much-deserved national recognition, a tip of the cap to Rockford.
Sure, Forest City didn't make the list this year, but Rockford has its strengths, too, featuring rich culture, history, and inimitable charm.
So, congratulations to Aurora for leading the way and showing the rest of the state how to get things done. Maybe Rockford will be on the list next year, too.
