Popular Milwaukee Burger Joint Featured on TV Is Shutting Down
Milwaukee’s burger scene is about to lose one of its most iconic names. This long-time favorite just announced it's closing after 16 years, and longtime fans are already feeling the loss.
Milwaukee Burger Royalty Prepares Its Final Farewell
After 16 years of burgers, brews, and airborne peanuts, AJ Bombers in Milwaukee has announced it will be closing its doors later this year. The restaurant shared the news in a Facebook post, thanking loyal fans and promising plenty of celebrations before the final curtain falls.

A Burger Joint That Blew Up on TV
AJ Bombers isn’t just any old burger spot. It rose to national fame when it took down fellow Milwaukee institution Sobelman’s in a burger showdown on the Travel Channel’s Food Wars. That win helped solidify its place in Wisconsin food lore, right next to Sobelman's massive Bloody Marys that come topped with what might as well be an entire brunch buffet, including fried chicken. But AJ Bombers brought its own kind of magic: handcrafted burgers, local brews, and a whimsical peanut delivery system that launched shells through the restaurant like delicious little torpedoes.
