Rockford Hosts 2nd Annual Accessible Field Day for Families with Disabilities
An incredible day of accessible outdoor fun is coming back to Rockford. RAMP, Friends of Jon, and the Rockford Park District are hosting the second annual Accessible Adventures Field Day on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Inclusive Fun Returns to Rockford This September

This free event is designed for individuals with disabilities and their families to explore, play, and connect with their community in a fully inclusive space at Levings Park.
Who Was Jon Wrenn?
The event honors Jon Wrenn, a man whose life was forever changed by a traumatic brain injury after a car accident. His adventurous spirit inspired his siblings to create Friends of Jon, an organization focused on enriching the lives of those living with traumatic brain injuries. Their mission: make recreational opportunities more accessible and joyful for all.
What to Expect at Rockford’s Accessible Field Day
Attendees can enjoy an impressive lineup of activities, including the Canoemobile—a 10-person canoe that brings nature to everyone, regardless of ability. Also on-site: adaptive activities, food trucks, a Birds of Prey show, and a local resource fair.
Free and Open to All
This event is completely free and open to the public. It’s a celebration of inclusivity, recreation, and the power of community partnerships. Whether you’re participating or simply cheering others on, this is a Rockford moment worth sharing.
