Not all stories involving air travel have to be bad.

We hear (and experience) a lot of negatives involving flying, whether it's logistics with the airlines or obnoxious passengers.

But one popular TikTok is shutting that down.

According to NBC Chicago, a pilot for United Airlines (which is based in Chicago) really tried to make a difficult situation easier on his passengers. And wouldn't ya know it...it was on Friday the 13th.

The captain (whose name hasn't been released) left San Francisco around 1:00 p.m. on that day, headed to Houston, Texas and was scheduled to land a little after 7:00 p.m.

Emergency medical help was needed and weirdly, the flight attendants were all in the back of the plane so the captain asked the passengers if anyone was qualified to help. The plane made an emergency landing in New Mexico.

Tanya Stamos, a passenger on the plane, says that ambulances met the plane on the runway and took the affected passenger off the plane before everyone else could deplane.

The emergency landing made for a big delay. Because of those hours, some members of the flight crew were pushed over the allowed legal limit by the FAA. So they had to wait until a new flight came in to get new flight attendants.

Pilot Saves The Day

The new departure time for this flight was 10:30 p.m. after a flight from Chicago could get there. And the issue was that the airport was getting ready to close.

The pilot bought everyone pizzas.

They organized a pizza line at the gate. The passengers really appreciated the kindness. It couldn't have been cheap, there were 153 passengers on the plane. Stamos told the outlet:

Everybody always thinks of something negative happening in this world — this world is doomed. What I take away from it is that goodness always prevails, you know?

We love to see it, especially right here before the holidays.
