Here’s How Long It Takes Iowa & Illinois To Say “I Love You” In Relationships
Ah yes, the giant 'L' word.
In the dating days, it can be an eggshells game to figure out when is the best time to tell someone you love them. It's a big admission and it's not something you want to rush into.
Which evidently isn't an issue for Iowa and Illinois.
When To Have The Chat
Myself and relationship experts agree that there isn't a "right" time to tell someone you love them. You just do it.
Forbes looked at which states are quicker to admit it to a partner. Specifically, if the daters will say "I love you" within the first 3 months of dating.
Overall, that sounds kind of quick to me but when you know, you know. Iowa and Illinois both agree with me.
20% of Iowans will say "I love you" within the first 3 months of dating, while only 13% of Illinoisans will do it.
Most of the respondents to the Forbes Health/OnePoll (29.4% of them) said that it should be expressed within the first 4-6 months of dating, which is generally the timeframe I'd agree with. That was the most popular timeframe across all age groups too. 21% said 3 months and 14% said 7-9 months.
If you look at the map, the Midwest as a whole isn't quick to say "I love you" to a partner, but Wisconsin isn't far, with 34% of them being fine with saying it 3 months into a relationship.
Meanwhile, Arizona, Massachusetts, and Connecticut are the fastest states to say "I love you" to their partners.
