You can't blame a bear for wanting to get out and enjoying the summer weather and see the sights. That's apparently what's happening in a small southern Illinois town that has video proof that they have a very hairy visitor prowling about.

I saw KFVS12 Heartland News, Weather & Sports share this story on their YouTube channel which includes an interview with James Arnold who lives near Route 45 in Carrier Mills, Illinois. He says that he was outside enjoying his morning coffee when he noticed a large brown animal nearby. His wife, Julie, captured video of the curious bear.

Here are a couple moments from the video of this bear who's made Carrier Mills, Illinois his new vacation spot.

Carrier Mills is a small mill town and coal mining community just to the east of Marion, Illinois. It's no secret that it's also in the part of Illinois that is heavily-wooded and has many nearby forests where a young bear could easily make a home or at least have plenty of places to hide as he passes through.

The report says that the police in Carrier Mills has issued a warning to the community to be on the lookout for this bear, but as of this writing I can't find any confirmation that they've been able to locate the animal and have wildlife officials safely relocate him away from people. Let's hope this bear story has a happy ending for all involved.
