Rejoice, Some Illinois McDonalds Getting Krispy Kreme Donuts

It was a marriage that was destined to happen: burgers and donuts. That union will be a reality soon at some Illinois McDonalds as they reportedly will be offering Krispy Kreme Donuts, too.

A couple of years ago, McDonalds began a quiet experiment at one of their Kentucky restaurants. They started offering Krispy Kreme Donuts to customers and now that grand idea is expanding to Illinois according to Nation's Restaurant News.

The report says that beginning October 15, 2024, Chicago-area McDonalds will also have Krispy Kreme Donuts on the menu. The choices are "Original Glazed, Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles, and Chocolate Iced Kreme-filled".

This isn't just a promotion that will begin and end in Chicago. The story says that they hope to have 1,000 McDonalds restaurants that feature Krispy Kreme Donuts by the end of this year and a whopping (no Burger King pun intended) 12,000 by the end of 2026. That's a lot of donuts in a lot of McDonalds.

So, if you've daydreamed about having a Big Mac with a Krispy Kreme Donut as a dessert item, your calorie-filled delusions are about to come true. Oh, happy day.
