Museums are the best, whether you visit a museum about history, industry, or fish Illinois is home to some of the best museums in the US, but also the weirdest. I saw this on onlyinyourstate.com and had to share some of the weird museums Illinois has that you have to put on your bucket list.

Here's one of the short people in your life (no jokes please). Michael's Museum located inside the Children's Museum in Chicago offers visits to experience tiny and miniature treasures.

Summon your inner child as you peek inside Michael’s Museum: A Curious Collection of Tiny Treasures. This permanent exhibit fosters the art of collecting and features nearly 100 collections of tiny objects, including miniatures, trinkets, artifacts, and curiosities donated by founder and curator Michael Horvich.

See a replica mental hospital that Mary Todd Lincoln was sent to after the assassination of her husband President Abraham Lincoln. She was committed to the Bellevue Mental Hospital by her son after her husband's death and now you can see a replica of that hospital. It's called the Batavia Depot Museum in Batavia, Illinois.

The important this is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing - Albert Einstein

See everything from Victorian Vampire Killing Kits to just plain weird items at the Curiosity Museum in Alton, Illinois. There is a lot to see when you visit this museum. Torture Devices, robots that watch you look through the museum, and ghost-hunting kits are just a few things you will see in the 1,500-foot museum which is dedicated to everything weird.
