Going to the movies is something I love doing more than anything else. It's such an underrated thing to do!

To me, there is nothing like seeing a movie for the first time. The rush of an adventurous story, the delicious smell of popcorn, and a chance to escape the real world for a few hours.

In a world where most people stream movies, I really hope I don't see the day when they're not a thing anymore.

I've been thinking a lot about movie theaters recently and wondering about where one of the oldest movie theaters in our state might be. This one may not be the oldest, but it's definitely one of them! Just the looks of this place bring so much nostalgia to me!

One of Illinois' Oldest Movie Theaters: Antioch Theatre

Antioch Theater in Antioch, Illinois opened its doors on July 26, 1924. Which means she just would've turned 100 years old!

The iconic theatre temporarily closed in 2014 to undergo renovations but reopened again to the public in 2015. That a look!

Glitzy theater lights like that are something you just don't see that often anymore. This place reminds me so much of the movie theater in my hometown!

It looks like such an intimate, fun theatre to kick back with my favorite candy and watch a great movie. In my opinion, nothing can beat that feeling!

I love seeing movie theaters like this thrive -- this place also has a wicked sense of humor with its outdoor signage. As usual, they always make a point to reference iconic movie masterpieces.

All this movie talk is making me plan my next trip to the movies haha! Looking for some more movie content about Illinois? Look no further! Check this out.
