Here’s How You Throw a Super Bowl Party without Making Clam Chowder or Cheesesteaks
We're gearing up for a Philly vs. New England Super Bowl! How are you planning to celebrate?
For the past four years or so, my brother has been throwing a themed Super Bowl party, where the foods represent the teams that are in the big game.
I'm guessing he's not the only one who uses the teams as the food inspiration, so what do you do when you don't want your house to smell like clam chowder?
I dunno about you, but the word chowder makes me wanna puke. Like it sounds like someone is puking when you say the word, 'chowder.'
Plus, it's usually paired with fish, so no thank you.
So I decided to do some research.
In addition to being the home of Clam Chowder, New England also gives us Boston Baked Beans, Boston Brown Bread, johnnycakes, maple syrup and cranberries.
While Philadelphia gives us more than just cheesesteaks.
To represent Philly, you can serve soft pretzels, roast pork sandwiches, funnel cakes, stromboli... or scrapple. But scrapple sounds disgusting so don't serve that.
