Documentary Filmed In Rockford Gets Its Theatrical Release

Minding The Gap received a ton of praise from The Sundance Film Festival and others from around the globe. Now it's being released in theaters. 

RegisterStar -  “Minding the Gap” follows Liu and two of his fellow skateboarding friends, Zack Mulligan and Keire Johnson, over several years as they navigate various issues of fatherhood. It was shot in and around Rockford.

I've been looking forward to seeing this movie for a few months now and it looks like I'll be able to at the end of this summer.

Magnolia Pictures will be distributing the film. Right now it will only have a limited release. That means you'll probably have to travel to Chicago to see the film. The Rockford AMC says that it hasn't booked a screening as of yet but that could change. I hope it does. I think that it would do very well in town if it were shown over a weekend.

So you don't want to go to Chicago to see the movie? Well, you're in luck. In addition to the theatrical release, Hulu has picked up the rights to Minding The Gap.

August 17th is the release date for both the theater screenings and Hulu availability.
