Dixon Police Department is Hiring Officers

Looking for a new challenge and interested in law enforcement in a small town environment? Dixon, Illinois might be the spot.The Dixon Police Department announced that the department will be hiring three full-time police officers.

To qualify, applicants have a minimum of two years experience as a police officer. To apply

• Applicants must submit a resume to the department
• Complete an oral interview.

After that process is complete, qualified individuals will be selected by the Dixon Police and Fire Commission from a pool of candidates who have police experience.  According to Dixon police:

Hiring officers with prior experience and police training significantly reduces this timeframe. An officer who has prior experience generally will only need to complete a 10 week field training program.
