Your NUIC Week 6 Football Preview

Lena-Winslow the state's top-ranked 1A team is the only unbeaten team left in the NUIC.

The Panthers are 5-0 after 34-6 win over Eastland/Pearl City. Forreston third in 1A had no problem with Aquin. They gave the Bulldogs their first loss of the season 50-19.

Week six has a pair of games that are expected to be close battles. In the Northwest, it's a big showdown between a pair of 4-1 teams as Dakota host West Carroll. Six of our ten-panel members took West Carroll.

In the Upstate Aquin has another test hosting Orangeville (3-2).

In other games in the Northwest Lena-Winslow host Amboy. East Dubuque is at Forreston and E/PC visits Galena.

In the Upstate, Stockton travels to Ashton/Franklin Center. River Ridge is at Polo and Milledgeville is at Warren.

In the non-conference game, Durand/Pecatonica looks for their first win as a Coop when they visit Madison Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.

It now looks as E/PC and West Carroll would be in the 2A playoffs.
