Earlier this week Jorge Ramos of Fusion TV asked Sen. Marco Rubio a question about whether he'd attend a friend or family member's same-sex wedding or commitment ceremony. As Guy Benson points out at Townhall.com, Rubio handled the "gotcha" question as well as could be expected:

Rubio says he absolutely would attend a loved one's gay wedding, out of love for that person.  Disagreements over political questions, personal beliefs and religious doctrine don't prevent him from respecting and supporting people in his life, he explains.  The Senator's point about Catholic teachings on divorce was particularly apt; just because his church frowns upon divorce doesn't mean he'd shun a relative or friend's second wedding.

Following up on that Q&A, and knowing other candidates would soon be asked the same question, WROK's Hugh Hewitt decided to turn it around and ask what he calls a "meta media question": What matters more: knowing if a candidate for the presdency would attend a gay wedding or whether he or she would destroy the Islamic State before it throws thousands of gay men to their deaths from towers?

As always, you can see full interviews and transcripts at Hugh’s website. The first candidate to tackle the question was Sen. Ted Cruz:

Later in the show, former Sen. Rick Santorum answered:

You can be sure the other candidates will face the same question in future Hugh Hewitt interviews. And, as always, you can full interviews and transcripts at Hugh’s website. You can listen to Hugh Hewitt’s show weeknights from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on WROK.
