Meet Ziggy. This tan pit bull terrier who is described as "silly" has been at Winnebago County Animal Services' shelter longer than any other dog at the facility.

Ziggy has been at the shelter, 4517 N. Main St., since Aug. 26.

On the shelter's website, Ziggy is estimated to be 2 years old. It also says he "loves to play."

He has been designated as a member of the Lonely Hearts Club. The club, which is sponsored by the WCAS Volunteer Auxiliary, is comprised of dogs that have been at the shelter longer than others.

Lonely Hearts Club Dogs also are available for adoption at the reduced fee of $55.

Ziggy isn't the only one who has spent at least a couple months at the Winnebago County Animal Services' shelter. Here are the 10 dogs that have been at the shelter the longest.
