WIFR’s Whitney Martin Shuts Down Fat-Shamer on Instagram

Moral of the story: If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

I'm pretty sure my eyeballs are going to explode at any moment. This is one of the first things I saw on Instagram this morning and I just about lost my mind.

Whitney Martin. Can we talk about Whitney Martin for just a gosh darn minute?

I've never personally met Whitney, even though this world of broadcasting is a small one, but I know a lot about her.

1. She may be the kindest person in all of Rockford. When my fellow broadcaster and best friend had questions about apartments, not only did she give fantastic recommendations, she went above and beyond by providing all sorts of information.
2. She is a volunteer for Gigi's Playhouse, a one of a kind achievement center for individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the community.
3. She is someone who values family and respects her elders.
4. She works harder in the gym than anyone I know. Seriously, have you seen those biceps!?

Taking a look at her life from the outside she seems like she has it all put together. She's kind, intelligent and beautiful. But she has one downfall, she is in the media.

See, being in the media it HARD WORK! I'm thankful that I can hide behind a microphone in a studio and talk to you every day. If I did what Whitney does, being on camera every single day, I would be terrified.

It takes a special person to be able to do that, mostly because of people like this guy.

Are you serious! Who is this guy. NOT COOL.

But Whitney, you handled it perfectly.
