Weather Pushes Back Deadline For Longtime Rockford Construction Project

If it feels like construction has been going on at Main and Riverside has been going on forever, it's going to feel even longer than that. 

The unseasonably cold and snowy November weather has pushed the construction project at Main and Riverside back a few more weeks.

The project, which began in 2016, that was supposed to wrap up at the end of this month will continue into December and possibly further.

MyStateline - A city spokesperson says crews have not found a day warm enough to install pavement markings, one of final steps needed for the road to open up completely.

There are two silver linings to this story, however. One is just imagine how nice this is all going to be when it is finally done. The other is that the initial completion for the project was August 2019 with it was first pitched. It should be done well before that.
