It seems that a lot of the stuff we were taught in school about the Pilgrims and the 1st Thanksgiving might not actually be true. Seriously, what a letdown to learn that they didn't actually wear buckles on their hats and shoes. And, the next time someone at your Thanksgiving Day table says something to the effect of "Just think, we're eating the same things the Pilgrims ate at the first Thanksgiving," you'll have the opportunity for a (gentle) correction of the record.

Turkey and stuffing? Probably not. Eels and lobster? Yep. Since we don't have much of a video record from the Pilgrims' time, we'll have to look at the evidence:

"Hey, can you pass me the plate of eels?"

No. No, I can't.
