You've probably never heard of 84 year old Dean Troutman, and probably haven't heard of the small Illinois community of Princeville. That's okay, let me fill you in.

People in his town thought that he was a little crazy to sink some money into a plot of land in Princeville, with the idea of establishing a town park. They thought he was even crazier when he sunk $300,000 into building a football field, a baseball park, and seating pavilions. Then, to add some icing to the crazy cake, he wanted to do even more. Dean wanted to add playground equipment to the park. The price tag for the playground was over $70,000, so Dean looked for a unique way to raise the money, and in April of this year, he began his fundraising effort:

When asked if his late wife would approve of what he had done, Dean said she probably would approve, but she'd also call him crazy "like everyone else does."
