You know you're doing something right (or wrong) when you're ranked the best (or worst.) In this case, if you've ever driven on this highway you know exactly why it's the worst.

If you've ever made the trip from Rockford to Chicago or vice-versa, you more than likely ended up on the Kennedy Expressway.

For me, I've made the trip back and forth more than I care to admit. So this news doesn't surprise me at all.

The American Highway Users Alliance has ranked the Kennedy Expressway as having the worst bottleneck in the country.

The 12 mile stretch between Nagle and Roosevelt is said to cost drivers nearly 17 million hours of time while sitting in traffic each year. That's a ton of time twiddling your thumbs and worst of all, your car is churning through your gasoline.

Like I said, I've driven that stretch and it gets pretty tight over there. I don't know if it's the constant on and off ramps that slow down the flow of traffic or what, but it's one of the worst highways in America.
