If you're frustrated with the state's budget impasse, this is your chance to be the change, make a difference, have your voice be heard and possibly make some money in the process.

According to WTVO, Illinois wants your money saving ideas and if yours is chosen you could earn up to $5,000. There's obviously parameters- your idea can't cause any harm, be a safety issue or require a state or federal constitutional change. So, firing government officials might be an option?

My boyfriend suggested constructing roads out of concrete instead of asphalt. Concrete roads require less maintenance and last much longer. Another suggestion I received was reducing the amount spent on welfare programs. It could even be a small idea like reducing energy costs at government buildings by reducing the number of vending machines they have.

Asking the public for their ideas is the best way, and probably the government's last resort, for getting this budget crisis solved; so if you have an idea, no matter how big or small, submit it here. It could earn you $5,000 if they use it.
