Spring has returned. That means baseball is back and construction barrels are out.

NOTE: As usual with these construction posts, I did all the original artwork. Impressive? You betchya.

The North Main construction project has been going on for awhile now, but it's about to get worse.

The Register Star painted a very nice picture of what to expect when all this is done:

Imagine a freshly paved, pothole-free road dotted with coordinated traffic lights, bordered by decorative street lamps, a recreation path and neatly landscaped residential and busicness terraces.

That's DEFINITELY not the Main St. you or I know but it will be in the future.

To get to Shangri-La however, we must endure the construction process. That means you might want to find a different route till next year (seriously, that's how long this will take.)

The stretch of North Main from Pierce Avenue and Campus Hill Blvd. will go down to one lane for the foreseeable future.

It's going to be nice one day, just not one anytime soon.
