The 12 Bars of Christmas Pub Crawl Starts Downtown This Saturday

Maybe it's just me, but if presented with the choice between some turtle doves, french hens, and geese-a-laying--or, some great drinks, food, and the chance to visit some watering holes I've not visited before, I'm going to take Option B.

Option B for me is the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau's "2nd Annual 12 Bars of Christmas Pub Crawl." It's starts this Saturday at 3pm with kick-off party at BMO Harris Bank Center that will include a DJ, food and drink, lots of prizes and your closest 12 Bars friends! At 5pm, the event crawls on to some of the most popular Rockford hot spots.

Saturday's temperatures will hover in the low 20s (before hitting the deep freeze on Sunday), so it will be a perfect day and evening to get out and do a little (or a lot of) holiday merrymaking.

Each participating establishment will offer a $5 Holiday Drink and complimentary, non-alcoholic, hot chocolate and/or coffee. We've encouraged all stops to make theirs the most fun and unique, by including holiday music, giveaways, food specials and other exciting surprises! A full listing of participating establishments will be provided, but we can share that we've included our North End Neighbors and will have a shuttle.

Just a quick reminder that since this is a pub crawl, You must be at least 21 years of age to participate! And, speaking of participating, here are the 12 locations you'll be visiting:
