Michael Lucci, director of jobs and growth at IllinoisPolicy.org joined us today on the WROK Morning Show, and he brought with him several startling facts about the state of our state. One big takeaway from our conversation is: Illinois is losing people.
I've only lived outside the state of Illinois for a grand total of about 6 months. In 1985, I went to work for a radio station in Columbus, Ohio, which was a great town to live in with one possible downside--when you left Columbus, you were in Ohio.
Okay, so it hasn't been the most frigid winter we've ever seen here in the Rockford area. It hasn't been the snowiest one, either. That doesn't mean that most of us aren't sick and tired of winter. Okay, maybe here in Illinois we don't torture the tongue with places like Ypsilanti, Oconomowoc, Menomonee, and Waukesha, but we do have a few places that, for folks outside Illinois, seem to be a little tough to pronounce.
