In April 2015, a tornado ripped through Fairdale, Illinois, taking out homes, businesses, trees, and cars. It also injured many and killed two residents.
On the evening of April 9th, 2015, an extremely violent and long-lived tornado tore through the communities near Rochelle and in Fairdale, leaving 2 dead and 11 injured.
Here in the Rockford area, we're no strangers to weather extremes, as folks in Belvidere, Poplar Grove, Fairdale, and Rochelle can attest. We've seen death and destruction up close (and personal, for many). However, we've rarely, if ever, had to face down a storm that's as big as our state.
