Governor Pritzker figures that you might need an incentive to go out and get vaccinated against COVID-19, even after 70 percent of the state's adults have received at lease one vaccine dose.
Currently, there are eight states in the U.S. that offer "vaccine lotteries" as a way to encourage their citizens to get out and get the COVID-19 shot(s). Illinois wants to be the 9th state to do it.
The cash giveaway starts on May 26th, and Ohio adults who have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose may enter a lottery that will provide a $1 million prize each Wednesday for five weeks that follow.
I don't know if it's a deal-breaker for you or not, but in order to take advantage of the cash and free beer contest, you'll have to go to Hoegaarden, Belgium.
