There's a fair number of horror stories about customer service at fast food restaurants. We've all likely seen a handful on Facebook recently. But a new survey asks the American public which chain is best at customer satisfaction.

Coming in at the top spot? That would be Chick-fil-A:

The company scored an 86, the highest ever rating for a company in the quick service category. and a strong showing for a first-time competitor. Chipotle came in second place with a score of 83, while Panera came in third.

Last year’s favorite, Papa John’s, fell five percentage points to fifth place. (Guess the Frito’s pizza wasn’t enough to wow consumers.)

On the flip side, for the sixth year in a row McDonald’s came in last out of the 17 brands ranked. Also bringing up the rear were KFC, Burger King, Taco Bell, and Jack In the Box.

I can't recall any terribly disastrous personal visits to fast food outlets recently. But I will say I've been to Chick-fil-A a few times and I would agree with the rest of the public -- it was a satisfying transaction. Good food and pleasant service. That's about all you can ask for, right?
