Stateline Sports Hub NUIC Basketball Rankings for Jan. 19

The latest AP state boys and girls 1A basketball rankings included two teams from the NUIC.

East Dubuque was ranked fifth in the boys poll. They were the last team from the NUIC to fall from the unbeaten ranks.

After winning their first 19 outings, East Dubuque lost to Byron 43-41 in the championship of the MLK tournament.

In the girls rankings, Ashton/Franklin (19-2) slipped from second to third. Galena (16-1) received votes but out of the top ten.

Galena's last two games of the Lena-Winslow MLK tournament were cancelled due to bad weather.
