Might you have hundreds or thousands of dollars waiting to be claimed? It's possible, and Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford wants to make sure you know one way or the other.

Rutherford will be on live this afternoon and tonight with our news partners at Eyewitness News WTVO-TV & WQRF-TV for an I-Cash telethon.  He and staff will be appearing on the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 9 p.m. (WQRF) and 10 p.m. newscasts taking phone calls and assisting local residents connect with what it rightfully theirs.

Officials say one in eight Illinois residents has an asset to be claimed in I-Cash. Assets include everything from stocks and CDs, to safe deposit boxes and valuables. You can find out more (and search your name) at the I-Cash website.

In the viewing/listening area there are more than 248,000 people with a total of $45 million available to be claimed. Rutherford will join "Riley & Scot" Thursday morning at 8:35 a.m. with an update on how much was able to be returned to the public. Courtesy of the Treasurer's office, here’s a look at the data:
